Peningkatan kemanfaatan Samama telah disajikan pada penelitian terdahulu. Penelitian ini menyajikan sifat anatomi utama Samama dan potensi seratnya sebagai bahan baku pulp dan kertas. Samama disayat dengan mikrotom pada tiga bidang pengamatan (radial, tangensial dan longitudinal). Teknik maserasi dan Metode Iodin digunakan untuk melihat dimensi serat dan sudut mikrofibril (MFA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Samama memiliki pembuluh yang menyebar dengan sebaran semi tata lingkar, tersusun dalam pola diagonal dan soliter secara keseluruhan. Seratnya berdinding tipis dan panjang seratnya termasuk kategori panjang. Kayu Samama direkomendasikan sebagai bahan pulp dan kertas karena kualitas seratnya.
