Netnography seeks to reveal the essence of human beings in an increasingly technological age. Netnography begins with ethnography's participant\u2010observational, humanistic, and often socially critical stance and selectively adds specifically adapted practices that include the use of search engines, data analytics, representational methods, digital delivery, and specific ethical procedures. Netnographic procedures eschew traditional assumptions about the nature and solidity of communities and culture, situating the research in notions of networked social interaction. Netnography, whose representational aims bridge digital humanities, data sciences, and cultural research approaches, is currently being adopted across the social sciences.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.1002\/9781405165518.wbeos0782","type":"other","created":{"date-parts":[[2017,9,14]],"date-time":"2017-09-14T12:34:10Z","timestamp":1505392450000},"page":"1-2","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":67,"title":["Netnography"],"prefix":"10.1002","author":[{"given":"Robert V.","family":"Kozinets","sequence":"first","affiliation":[],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]}],"member":"311","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2016,8]]},"reference":[{"key":"e_1_2_3_1_2_1","volume-title":"The Trouble with Community: Anthropological Reflections on Movement, Identity, and Collectivity","author":"Amit V.","year":"2002"},{"key":"e_1_2_3_1_3_1","volume-title":"Digital Anthropology","author":"Horst H.A.","year":"2012"},{"key":"e_1_2_3_1_4_1","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1002\/9781118767771.wbiedcs067"},{"key":"e_1_2_3_2_2_1","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1146\/annurev.anthro.012809.104945"},{"key":"e_1_2_3_2_3_1","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.4135\/9780857020277"},{"key":"e_1_2_3_2_4_1","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1509\/jmkr.39.1.61.18935"},{"key":"e_1_2_3_2_5_1","volume-title":"Netnography: Doing Ethnographic Research Online","author":"Kozinets R.V.","year":"2010"}],"container-title":["The Blackwell Encyclopedia of Sociology"],"original-title":[],"language":"en","link":[{"URL":"https:\/\/api.wiley.com\/onlinelibrary\/tdm\/v1\/articles\/10.1002%2F9781405165518.wbeos0782","content-type":"application\/pdf","content-version":"vor","intended-application":"text-mining"},{"URL":"https:\/\/onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/doi\/pdf\/10.1002\/9781405165518.wbeos0782","content-type":"unspecified","content-version":"vor","intended-application":"similarity-checking"}],"deposited":{"date-parts":[[2023,8,19]],"date-time":"2023-08-19T00:56:45Z","timestamp":1692406605000},"score":1,"resource":{"primary":{"URL":"https:\/\/onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/doi\/10.1002\/9781405165518.wbeos0782"}},"subtitle":[],"short-title":[],"issued":{"date-parts":[[2016,8]]},"ISBN":["9781405124331","9781405165518"],"references-count":7,"alternative-id":["10.1002\/9781405165518.wbeos0782","10.1002\/9781405165518"],"URL":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1002\/9781405165518.wbeos0782","archive":["Portico"],"relation":{},"subject":[],"published":{"date-parts":[[2016,8]]}}}
