Although artificial intelligence (AI)\u2010based clinical decision support seemed to have matured, the application of AI\u2010based tools for COVID\u201019 has been limited to date. In this perspective piece, the opportunities and requirements for AI\u2010based clinical decision support systems are identified and challenges that impact \u201cAI readiness\u201d for rapidly emergent healthcare challenges are
