It operates as a complex nonlinear system, composed of interacting dynamic units\u2014neurons and synapses\u2014which process data\u2010streams as time goes by, i.e., through time, using time as an internal variable. Herein, the memristor\u2010based compact chaotic circuit incorporated in a computing architecture is presented, able to process information through time. A memristive hardware version of the formally simplest chaotic circuit has been realized, which, thanks to the nonlinearity of the nonvolatile memristor device, exhibits complex dynamics in response to a driving signal. This circuit is employed in a single\u2010node reservoir computing scheme to showcase nonlinear classification tasks and the processing of data streams through time.
