Besides local degeneration attributable to the electrode track, dense projections to Areas 17 and 18 ipsilateral to the lesion were found. Medium or dense degeneration was found on both banks of the suprasylvian fissure ipsilaterally and light degeneration widely distributed in Area 19 and on the suprasylvian and posterior ectosylvian gyri.
