Reactive cells in CBA spleen were sensitive to anti\u2010\u0398 <jats:italic>in vitro<\/jats:italic> and anti\u2010lymphocyte serum <jats:italic>in vivo<\/jats:italic>. Although thymus cells were not reactive, the hydrocortisone\u2010resistant fraction contained substantial reactivity, similar to that found in the periphery. However, when either hydrocortisone\u2010resistant or normal thymocytes were adoptively transferred to irradiated syngeneic hosts, no mixed lymphocyte reaction activity appeared for the first 4\u20135 days in contrast to the immediate appearance of activity in the lymph node\u2010restored hosts.
