{"status":"ok","message-type":"work","message-version":"1.0.0","message":{"indexed":{"date-parts":[[2025,10,10]],"date-time":"2025-10-10T06:54:30Z","timestamp":1760079270799},"reference-count":25,"publisher":"Wiley","issue":"10","license":[{"start":{"date-parts":[[2005,11,16]],"date-time":"2005-11-16T00:00:00Z","timestamp":1132099200000},"content-version":"vor","delay-in-days":11004,"URL":"http:\/\/onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/termsAndConditions#vor"}],"content-domain":{"domain":[],"crossmark-restriction":false},"short-container-title":["Eur J Immunol"],"published-print":{"date-parts":[[1975,10]]},"abstract":"<jats:title>Abstract<\/jats:title><jats:p>The <jats:italic>in vitro<\/jats:italic> recognition of acetylsalicilyl ovalbumin, penicilloylated bovine IgG (BPO\u2010BGG) and the multichain copolymer poly\u2010<jats:sc>L<\/jats:sc>\u2010(Tyr, Glu)\u2010poly\u2010<jats:sc>DL<\/jats:sc>\u2010Ala\u2010poly\u2010<jats:sc>L<\/jats:sc>\u2010Lys [(T, G)\u2010A\u2010L] by primed (2 \u00d7 13) F<jats:sub>1<\/jats:sub> cells could be markedly and specifically blocked by alloantisera directed against \u201creceptors\u201d (R) or recognition structures for these antigens. The antisera were raised against lymphoid cells from various F<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub> hybrid guinea pigs of (2 \u00d7 13) histocompatibility type in which responsiveness to low doses of acetylsalicylic acid anhydride, BPO\u2010BGG and (T, G)\u2010A\u2010L segregated independently of each other. One of the genes required for the expression of high responsiveness appears to be linked to the 13 MHC genes. The anti\u2010R antisera did not contain antibodies capable of interacting directly with the stimulating antigen since passage of the sera through antigen\u2010immunoadsorbent columns did not remove antibodies capable of suppressing <jats:italic>in vitro<\/jats:italic> recognition. Furthermore, the antisera did not appear to contain cytotoxic antibodies directed against specific antigen\u2010sensitive cells. The activity of the anti\u2010R sera was highly specific: their inhibitory activity could only be absorbed by lymphoid cells bearing the specific recognition structures for the appropriate antigen.
