Small numbers (1\u20135%) of sheep (E) rosette or T antigen\u2010positive, surface immunoglobulin\u2010negative (E<jats:sup>+<\/jats:sup>, T<jats:sup>+<\/jats:sup>, smIg<jats:sup>\u2212<\/jats:sup>) T cells were Ia<jats:sup>+<\/jats:sup>; these cells appeared to be restricted to the T<jats:sub>G<\/jats:sub> subset. Following activation by allogeneic lymphocytes or sperm, or by purified protein derivative of tuberculin (PPD), the proportion of positive T cells increased substantially.
