Imaging plates can detect a <jats:sup>32<\/jats:sup>P\u2010labeled sample at an exposure level of 1 disintegration\/mm<jats:sup>2<\/jats:sup>, and <jats:sup>14<\/jats:sup>C and <jats:sup>35<\/jats:sup>S at 25 disintegrations\/mm<jats:sup>2<\/jats:sup>. Compared to X\u2010ray film, imaging plates offer increased sensitivity of 15\u2010 to 250\u2010fold for <jats:sup>32<\/jats:sup>P and 20\u2010 to 100\u2010fold for <jats:sup>14<\/jats:sup>C and <jats:sup>35<\/jats:sup>S.
