A recently suggested model for the prediction of diversity performance is properly modified by considering also the stratified type of rain. The modified method uses the assumption of lognormal unconditional distribution of rainfall for the location under consideration. Numerical results are applied to several satellite systems operating in various locations in the United States and Italy. Some useful conclusions are deduced.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.1002\/ett.4460010110","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2008,9,12]],"date-time":"2008-09-12T12:53:16Z","timestamp":1221223996000},"page":"49-57","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":10,"title":["A modification of the predictive analysis for the multiple site diversity performance taking into account the stratified rain"],"prefix":"10.1002","volume":"1","author":[{"given":"John","family":"Kanellopoulos","sequence":"first","affiliation":[]},{"given":"Spyros","family":"Ventouras","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[]}],"member":"311","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2008,9,12]]},"reference":[{"key":"e_1_2_1_2_2","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1109\/JSAC.1987.1146565"},{"key":"e_1_2_1_3_2","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1109\/JSAC.1987.1146548"},{"key":"e_1_2_1_4_2","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1109\/TAP.1967.1138919"},{"key":"e_1_2_1_5_2","first-page":"443","article-title":"Path diversity for reception of satellite signals","volume":"8","author":"Hodge D.
