Our analysis leads us to propose <jats:italic>&amp;fine grain<\/jats:italic> architecture as a reasonable solution. Rigorous performance estimate is also provided for it. The single lowermost\u2010level processing element \u201cad hoc\u201d designed by us, has been yet implemented in VLSI technology and is under test; it is suitable to work in very high granularity systems of bit\u2010sequential type (as \u201cconnectionist\u201d architectures).
