The proposed network uses fastly programmable all\u2010optical CDMA encoders and decoders which are based on tunable optical delay\u2010lines and require only a small number of electro\u2010optic switches. Coding and decoding algorithms for \u201csynchronous\u201d prime\u2010sequence codes that can be rapidly performed in the optical domain are described. Moreover, a two\u2010wavelength scheme is presented to effectively solve the problems associated with clock distribution and frame synchronization in large\u2010scale synchronous CDMA networks.
