It is shown that for each positive integer <jats:italic>n<\/jats:italic> &gt; 1 there exists an <jats:italic>n<\/jats:italic>\u2010universal graph <jats:italic>G<\/jats:italic> on 4<jats:sup>n<\/jats:sup> \u2010 1 vertices such that <jats:italic>G<\/jats:italic> is a (<jats:italic>v, k<\/jats:italic>, \u03bb)\u2010graph, and both <jats:italic>G<\/jats:italic> and its complement G\u00af are 1\u2010transitive in the sense of W. T. Tutte and are of diameter 2.
