Any brief, critical review of the FRBR literature quickly shows that there is no clear consensus on the nature of the FRBR Group 1 entities. This situation becomes more complicated when one looks at theoretical attempts to operationalize FRBR by researchers and practitioners with different motivations and experience: each has its own flavor.
