This paper describes a case study of knowledge management (KM) at the end of the Iraq war, where the breadth and depth of KM was extreme. KM activities are analyzed using Anderson's KM and Kling's social informatics frameworks. The results reveal that many of the challenges mirror the socio‐technical interdependencies identified in other organizational settings and suggests that lessons learned from this extreme case can be used to inform KM practices of information professionals in non‐combat environments.
[[2015,4,24
["On the need for combat librarians: A case study of knowledge management at the end of the iraq war
Graduate School of Library and Information Science University of Illinois at Urbana‐Champaign 501 E.
