Proton detection of {1\u2212<jats:sup>13<\/jats:sup>C}\u2010glucose, {3\u2212<jats:sup>13<\/jats:sup>C}\u2212lactaite, 4\u2212{<jats:sup>13<\/jats:sup>C}\u2010glutamine, 4\u2212{<jats:sup>13<\/jats:sup>C}\u2010glutamate and the combined signals 2\u2212{<jats:sup>13<\/jats:sup>C}\u2010glutamate\/glutamine and 3\u2212(<jats:sup>13<\/jats:sup>C}\u2010glutamate\/glutamine was achieved, despite the fact that some of the associated proton resonances are close to the water signal. Two\u2010dimensional {<jats:sup>1<\/jats:sup>H\u2010<jats:sup>13<\/jats:sup>C}\u2010spectra demonstrate the possibility of <jats:italic>in situ<\/jats:italic> spectral assignment with <jats:sup>1<\/jats:sup>H sensitivity and <jats:sup>13<\/jats:sup>C resolution.
