Contr. Lett.<\/jats:italic> <jats:bold>1<\/jats:bold> (1981) 79\u201086) proved that a linear square (<jats:italic>m<\/jats:italic>\u2010input, <jats:italic>m<\/jats:italic>\u2010output) dynamic system is structurally decouplable via a linear feedback if and only if there exists an elementary i\/o matching in the graph representation of that system.
