Conventional Ca<jats:sup>2+<\/jats:sup>\u2010dependent PKCs (\u03b1, \u03b2I, \u03b2II, and \u03b3), PLCs, and various GAPs are all known to contain copies of a phospholipid\u2010binding domain, termed C2 or CalB. Here we recognize that C2 domains are also present in \u201cnew\u201d Ca<jats:sup>2+<\/jats:sup> \u2010independent PKCs (\u03b4, \u03b7, \u03b7, and \u03b8), other kinases, a eukaryotic PLD, the <jats:italic>breakpoint cluster region (BCR<\/jats:italic>) gene product, and two further GAPS. Twenty\u2010two previously unrecognized C2 domain sequences are presented, which include a single copy in the mammalian poreforming proteins,
