An A\u20102BCA(\u03ba) is a three\u2010dimensional automaton which consists of a pair of a converter and a configuration\u2010reader. The former converts the given three\u2010dimensional tape to the two\u2010dimensional configuration and the latter determines the acceptance or nonacceptance of given three\u2010dimensional tape whether or not the derived two\u2010dimensional configuration is accepted.<\/jats:p><jats:p>We investigate how the difference of the neighborhood template of the converter or the configuration\u2010reader affects its accepting power. As a result, it is shown that when the converter is deterministic, the greater the number of neighbor cells of the converter and the more powerful the configuration\u2010reader, the more powerful the accepting power of the A\u20102BCA(\u03ba). However, this is not always true for the nondeterministic case.
