This paper also proposes \u201ca twisting operation\u201d for an 8\u2010neighbor operation with an arbitrary direction and an arbitrary directional accuracy. By using this operation and the concept of vibrating operations, such as erosion\u2010dilatation or dilatation\u2010erosion, directional local parallel operations are defined to extract linear features.
