One typical medical application is simulated surgery, of which bone cutting is an essential part. Facilities for removing bone sections two\u2010and also three\u2010dimensionally are required.<\/jats:p><jats:p>This paper describes the algorithms developed for three\u2010dimensional bone section removal and designed for high speed and ease of operation. An actual plastic surgery case to which our algorithms were applied is presented.
