Also investigated are the closure properties under some basic set operations.<\/jats:p><jats:p>Finally, new homomorphic characterizations are given as follows. For every recursively enumerable language <jats:italic>L<\/jats:italic>, we can find two languages <jats:italic>L<\/jats:italic><jats:sub>1<\/jats:sub>, <jats:italic>L<\/jats:italic><jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub> from each pair of those language classes except a pair of even linear languages and a homomorphism <jats:italic>h<\/jats:italic> such that <jats:italic>L<\/jats:italic>=h(L<jats:sub>1<\/jats:sub>L<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub>).
