Data input are primarily graphical and manual transcription of data for subsequent phases of the design analysis is virtually eliminated by the use of a uniform data base, generated at the time of input. The RAINBOW system depends heavily on the software support of a filing system with on\u2010line access; this is briefly described. A description of the internal structures used to model the data is given. The component programs of RAINBOW, in its present state of development, are listed and described.
