This hierarchy then directs the subsequent analysis. At the same time the system collects detailed information on the structure of all units analysed<\/jats:p><jats:p>Periodically, the normal process of analysis is suspended, and the analytic information is utilized by heuristic mechanisms to optimize the subsequent processing.
