Moreover, the Li\u2010transport rate in high\u2010capacity Mn\u2010based disordered rock\u2010salt (DRX) cathodes (e.g., Li<jats:sub>1.2<\/jats:sub>Mn<jats:sub>0.4<\/jats:sub>Ti<jats:sub>0.4<\/jats:sub>O<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub>) is found to be influenced by the short\u2010range order of cations, underlining the importance of engineering the local cation order in designing high\u2010energy materials. Herein, the nanocomposite is revealed, with\u00a0a\u00a0heterogeneous nature (like MRO found in LMR) of ultrahigh\u2010capacity partially ordered cathodes (e.g., Li<jats:sub>1.68<\/jats:sub>Mn<jats:sub>1.6<\/jats:sub>O<jats:sub>3.7<\/jats:sub>F<jats:sub>0.3<\/jats:sub>) made of distinct domains of spinel\u2010, DRX\u2010 and layered\u2010like phases, contrary to conventional single\u2010phase DRX cathodes. This multi\u2010scale understanding of ordering informs engineering the nanocomposite material via Ti doping, altering the intra\u2010particle characteristics to increase the content of the rock\u2010salt phase and heterogeneity within a particle. This strategy markedly improves the reversibility of both Mn\u2010 and O\u2010redox processes to enhance the cycling stability of the partially ordered DRX cathodes (nearly \u224830% improvement of capacity retention).
