In agreement with the melting temperature measurements of Dove and Davidson for Mg<jats:sup>++<\/jats:sup>, it is predicted that a region of uni\u2013univalent salt concentration then exists in which (<jats:italic>dT<\/jats:italic> <jats:sub>m<\/jats:sub>\/<jats:sup>d<\/jats:sup> log <jats:italic>m<\/jats:italic> <jats:sc>A<\/jats:sc>+) is negative.
