This response is composed of molecules having \u03bc or \u03b3<jats:sub>1<\/jats:sub> heavy chains and light chains of the \u03bb type. A guinea pig anti\u2010idiotype was raised to the purified C57BL\/6 primary anti\u2010NP immunoglobulin. After suitable absorption, this anti\u2010idiotype was shown to detect markers present on the primary anti\u2010NP immunoglobulin only of those strains which express the Ig\u2010l<jats:sup>b<\/jats:sup> allotype.
