The gene called <jats:italic>YJU2<\/jats:italic> was borne on a chromosome X fragments shown by hybridization to intact <jats:italic>S. cerevisiae<\/jats:italic> chromosomal DNA fractionated by orthogonal pulsed field electrophoresis. Northern hybridization analysis indicated that the 0.8\u2010kb transcript of <jats:italic>YJU2<\/jats:italic> is expressed in exponential\u2010phase cells grown in rich medium (data not shown).
