{"status":"ok","message-type":"work","message-version":"1.0.0","message":{"indexed":{"date-parts":[[2025,10,21]],"date-time":"2025-10-21T14:41:27Z","timestamp":1761057687154},"reference-count":7,"publisher":"Wiley","issue":"7","license":[{"start":{"date-parts":[[2003,3,10]],"date-time":"2003-03-10T00:00:00Z","timestamp":1047254400000},"content-version":"vor","delay-in-days":3675,"URL":"http:\/\/onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/termsAndConditions#vor"}],"content-domain":{"domain":[],"crossmark-restriction":false},"short-container-title":["J of Applied Polymer Sci"],"published-print":{"date-parts":[[1993,2,15]]},"abstract":"<jats:title>Abstract<\/jats:title><jats:p>An investigation is reported on the flammability and thermal behavior of polyamide\u20106, obtained by anionic polymerization of \u03f5\u2010caprolactam, carried out in bulk, in the presence of the following <jats:italic>N<\/jats:italic>\u2010substituted phosphorus\u2010containing lactam derivatives: diethyl\u2010(<jats:italic>N<\/jats:italic>\u2010caprolactam)\u2010phosphonite (PL<jats:sub>1<\/jats:sub>), diethyl\u2010(<jats:italic>N<\/jats:italic>\u2010caprolactam)\u2010phosphonate (PL<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub>), and 2,5\u2010dichlorophenyl\u2010bis(<jats:italic>N<\/jats:italic>\u2010caprolactam)\u2010phosphinate (PL<jats:sub>3<\/jats:sub>). Phosphorus\u2010containing lactam derivatives PL,<jats:sub>1<\/jats:sub> and PL<jats:sub>3<\/jats:sub> are used as activators of the anionic polymerization of \u03f5\u2010caprolactam, and PL<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub>, as a modifying additive. The phosphorus\u2010containing polyamide\u20106 possesses improved flame retardancy, as well as improved thermo\u2010 and thermooxidative resistance. Destruction kinetics were studied in nitrogen and air atmospheres, and the activation energy for thermal and thermooxidative destruction have been determined.
