The HPLC\/Diode Array Detector (DAD) analysis showed the presence of 14 phenolic compounds (gallic, caffeic, <jats:italic>p<\/jats:italic>\u2010coumaric, ferulic and ellagic acids, kaempferol, quercetin, quercetin 3\u2010<jats:italic>O<\/jats:italic>\u2010galactoside and six flavonol derivatives). This is the first study reporting a comparative study of the biological activities of different extracts from <jats:italic>T<\/jats:italic>. <jats:italic>aphylla<\/jats:italic>. High activities were obtained against DPPH radical, superoxide anion radical (<jats:inline-graphic xmlns:xlink=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1999\/xlink\" xlink:href=\"graphic\/cbdv201600157-math-0001.png\" xlink:title=\"urn:x-wiley:16121872:media:cbdv201600157:cbdv201600157-math-0001\"\/>) and nitric oxide radical (<jats:sup>\u2022<\/jats:sup>NO) in a concentration\u2010dependent manner, the most active extracts being the polar ones. <jats:italic>T<\/jats:italic>. <jats:italic>aphylla<\/jats:italic> also showed moderate protective effects against acetylcholinesterase, but no effects were observed against butyrylcholinesterase.
