In the present work, six varieties collected in Valencia (Spain) were characterised: \u2018Desmayo Rojo\u2019, \u2018Guara\u2019, \u2018Desmayo Largueta\u2019 and \u2018Marcona\u2019 (Spanish varieties), and \u2018Ferraduel\u2019 and \u2018Ferragn\u00e8s\u2019 (French varieties). The different varieties differed significantly in nutritional composition, fatty acid profile, and \u03b1\u2010tocopherol content. \u2018Desmayo Rojo\u2019 (less known than \u2018Desmayo Largueta\u2019) presented the highest content of \u03b1\u2010tocopherol and campesterol. \u03b2\u2010Sitosterol was the major sterol, followed by campesterol and stigmasterol. Concerning sugars, sucrose, stachyose, and raffinose were quantified. The highest concentration of sucrose was found in \u2018Ferragn\u00e8s\u2019, whereas stachyose was higher in \u2018Desmayo Largueta\u2019, \u2018Desmayo Rojo\u2019 and \u2018Guara\u2019. \u2018Marcona\u2019 presented the highest value of raffinose. It was possible to separate the six varieties into five groups, keeping the French varieties in the same group.
