However, its performance in Li\u2010ion storage is hindered by poor electronic conductivity. In this work, a solvothermal approach was applied for the synthesis of Nb\u2010doped TiO<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub> nanocrystals with Nb content up to 33 at.\u2009%. The enhanced electronic conductivity and favorable electrochemical kinetics led to superior specific capacity, rate capability, and cycling stability compared to pristine TiO<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub>. For the optimum dopant content of 21 at.\u2009%, a specific capacity of 58\u2005mAh\u2009g<jats:sup>\u22121<\/jats:sup> was reached at 10\u2005A\u2009g<jats:sup>\u22121<\/jats:sup> compared to just 28\u2005mAh\u2009g<jats:sup>\u22121<\/jats:sup> for pure TiO<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub>, in addition to almost 20\u2009% higher capacity retention after prolonged cycling.
