The apparent quantum yield for H<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub> generation using monochromatic light at 370\u2005nm in water\/methanol 3:1 was of 3.5\u2009% for UiO\u201066(NH<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub>). Laser\u2010flash photolysis has allowed detecting for UiO\u201066 and UiO\u201066(NH<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub>) the photochemical generation of a long lived charge separated state whose decay is not complete 300\u2005\u03bcs after the laser flash.
