Photoinduced energy\u2010 and electron\u2010transfer processes were studied through the preparation of H<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub>P\u2013ZnPc, ZnP\u2013ZnPc, and PdP\u2013ZnPc conjugates, and their assembly through metal coordination with two different pyridylfulleropyrrolidines (<jats:bold>4<\/jats:bold> and <jats:bold>5<\/jats:bold>). The resulting electron\u2010donor\u2013acceptor hybrids, which were formed by axial coordination of compounds <jats:bold>4<\/jats:bold> and <jats:bold>5<\/jats:bold> with the corresponding phthalocyanines, mimicked the fundamental processes of photosynthesis; that is, light harvesting, the transduction of excited\u2010state energy, and unidirectional electron transfer. In particular, photophysical studies confirmed that intramolecular energy\u2010transfer resulted from the S<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub> excited state as well as from the S<jats:sub>1<\/jats:sub> excited state of the porphyrins to the energetically lower\u2010lying phthalocyanines, followed by an intramolecular charge\u2010transfer to yield P\u2013Pc<jats:sup>.+<\/jats:sup><jats:bold>\u22c5<\/jats:bold>C<jats:sub>60<\/jats:sub><jats:sup>.\u2212<\/jats:sup>.
