The hydrogen bond\u2010induced <jats:italic>E<\/jats:italic>\/<jats:italic>Z<\/jats:italic> isomerization of the (HL<jats:sup>1d<\/jats:sup>)<jats:sup>\u2212<\/jats:sup> ligand occurs upon conversion of [{Na(H<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub>O)<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub>(\u03bc\u2010H<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub>O)<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub>}(HL<jats:sup>1d<\/jats:sup>)]<jats:sub><jats:italic>n<\/jats:italic><\/jats:sub> (<jats:bold>14<\/jats:bold>) to [Cu(H<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub>O)<jats:sub>6<\/jats:sub>][HL<jats:sup>1d<\/jats:sup>]<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub><jats:bold>\u22c5<\/jats:bold>2\u2009H<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub>O (<jats:bold>15<\/jats:bold>) and [{CuNa(H<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub>O)\u2010(\u03ba<jats:italic>N<\/jats:italic><jats:sup>1<\/jats:sup>,1\u2009\u03ba<jats:italic>O<\/jats:italic><jats:sup>2<\/jats:sup>:2\u2009\u03ba<jats:italic>O<\/jats:italic><jats:sup>1<\/jats:sup>\u2009L<jats:sup>1d<\/jats:sup>)<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub>}K<jats:sub>0.5<\/jats:sub>(\u03bc\u2010O)<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub>]<jats:italic>n<\/jats:italic><jats:bold>\u22c5<\/jats:bold>H<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub>O (<jats:bold>16<\/jats:bold>).
