The products show a prominent \u201csolvating system\u2013structure\u201d dependency, as determined by X\u2010ray diffraction. Topological analysis of cages <jats:bold>1<\/jats:bold>\u2013<jats:bold>6<\/jats:bold> was also performed. In addition, DFT theory was used to examine the structures of the Cooling Tower and Cylinder compounds, as well as the spin density distributions. Compounds <jats:bold>1<\/jats:bold>, <jats:bold>2<\/jats:bold>, and <jats:bold>5<\/jats:bold> were applied as catalysts for the direct oxidation of alcohols and amines into the corresponding amides.
