To the best of our knowledge, compound <jats:bold>1<\/jats:bold> is one of the few examples of a trinuclear array of ruthenium fragments bridged by the nitrogen atom of the\u2013C\u2261N\u2013 group (Ru\u2013C\u2261<jats:bold>N<\/jats:bold>\u2013Ru\u2032\u2013<jats:bold>N<\/jats:bold>\u2261C\u2013Ru) with a Ru\u2010coordinated water molecule. The new aqua complex was structurally characterized by FTIR, <jats:sup>1<\/jats:sup>H, <jats:sup>13<\/jats:sup>C, and <jats:sup>31<\/jats:sup>P NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, elemental analysis, single\u2010crystal X\u2010ray diffraction, and cyclic voltammetry. The title complex crystallizes in a triclinic unit cell <jats:italic>a<\/jats:italic> = 17.3477(6) \u00c5, <jats:italic>b<\/jats:italic> = 17.8551(5) \u00c5, <jats:italic>c<\/jats:italic> = 18.2460(7) \u00c5, <jats:italic>\u03b1<\/jats:italic> = 95.693(2)\u00b0, <jats:italic>\u03b2<\/jats:italic> = 111.648(2)\u00b0, and <jats:italic>\u03b3<\/jats:italic> = 97.839(2)\u00b0 in the space group <jats:italic>P<\/jats:italic><jats:styled-content>$\\bar {1}$<jats:inline-graphic xmlns:xlink=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1999\/xlink\" xlink:href=\"graphic\/tex2gif-ueqn-1.gif\" xlink:title=\"equation image\"\/><\/jats:styled-content> with <jats:italic>Z<\/jats:italic> = 2.(\u00a9 Wiley\u2010VCH Verlag GmbH &amp; Co.
