The corresponding monohydrido complexes have also been obtained by treating the chlorides withNaOMe. The X\u2010ray crystal structures of [TpRuCl(PTA)(PPh<jats:sub>3<\/jats:sub>)] (<jats:bold>2<\/jats:bold>) and [TpRuCl(PTA)<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub>] (<jats:bold>3<\/jats:bold>) are also described. Cyclic voltammetry (CV) studies in MeCN and dmso generally show reversible Ru<jats:sup>II\/III<\/jats:sup> oxidation waves and the values of <jats:italic>E<\/jats:italic><jats:sub>1\/2<\/jats:sub><jats:sup>ox<\/jats:sup> reflect the electron\u2010donating character of the ligands [Tp (each arm) &gt; PTA &gt; PTA(BH<jats:sub>3<\/jats:sub>)], whose Lever electrochemical parameter (<jats:italic>E<\/jats:italic><jats:sub>L<\/jats:sub>) has been estimated for the first time.(\u00a9 Wiley\u2010VCH Verlag GmbH &amp; Co.
