{"status":"ok","message-type":"work","message-version":"1.0.0","message":{"indexed":{"date-parts":[[2026,1,9]],"date-time":"2026-01-09T12:24:17Z","timestamp":1767961457948,"version":"3.49.0"},"reference-count":56,"publisher":"Wiley","issue":"25","license":[{"start":{"date-parts":[[2009,7,23]],"date-time":"2009-07-23T00:00:00Z","timestamp":1248307200000},"content-version":"vor","delay-in-days":0,"URL":"http:\/\/onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/termsAndConditions#vor"}],"content-domain":{"domain":["chemistry-europe.onlinelibrary.wiley.com"],"crossmark-restriction":true},"short-container-title":["Eur J Inorg Chem"],"published-print":{"date-parts":[[2009,9]]},"abstract":"<jats:title>Abstract<\/jats:title><jats:p>The reactions between equimolar amounts of R<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub>SnO (R = Me <jats:bold>1<\/jats:bold>, <jats:italic>n<\/jats:italic>Bu <jats:bold>2<\/jats:bold>) and <jats:italic>N<\/jats:italic>,2\u2010dihydroxy\u20105\u2010[<jats:italic>N<\/jats:italic>\u2010hydroxyethanimidoyl]benzamide (H<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub>L) under solvent reflux conditions (in toluene for <jats:bold>1<\/jats:bold> and methanol for <jats:bold>2<\/jats:bold>) for ca. 4 h led to the formation of the trinuclear tin complexes [R<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub>Sn(L)]<jats:sub>3<\/jats:sub> (R = Me <jats:bold>3<\/jats:bold>, <jats:italic>n<\/jats:italic>Bu <jats:bold>4<\/jats:bold>) isolated as colourless crystalline solids in ca. 85\u2009% yield, which were characterized by IR, <jats:sup>1<\/jats:sup>H, <jats:sup>13<\/jats:sup>C and <jats:sup>119<\/jats:sup>Sn NMR spectroscopy, elemental analysis and (for <jats:bold>4<\/jats:bold>) by X\u2010ray diffraction. The trinuclear Sn core is stabilized by multiple intramolecular hydrogen bonding interactions involving the hydroxamate ligands, whereas the uncoordinated oxime functions interact through intermolecular H\u2010bonds leading to cyclic hexameric assemblies. These complexes are stable in air, soluble in common solvents and moderately in water and represent the first examples of tin species containing ligatedoximehydroxamic acids. Complex <jats:bold>4<\/jats:bold> exhibits high in vitrotumour\u2010inhibiting activity against the following human cell lines: promyelocyticfina leukemia (HL\u201060), hepatocellular carcinoma (Bel\u20107402), gastric carcinoma (BGC\u2010823) andnasopharyngeal carcinoma (KB).
