To gain an insight into the usefulness of this new chelator for labeling biomolecules with a <jats:italic>fac<\/jats:italic>\u2010[M(CO)<jats:sub>3<\/jats:sub>]<jats:sup>+<\/jats:sup> core, the ligand framework has been functionalized with a <jats:italic>N<\/jats:italic>\u2010(dialkylaminoalkyl) pharmacophore.
