However, when the reaction was peformed in the presence of the N\u2010containing species cyanoguanidine (cyg), 3,5\u2010dimethyl\u20101<jats:italic>H<\/jats:italic>\u2010pyrazole (dp), 2,2\u2032\u2010bipyridine (bpy) or pyrazine (py), the mononuclear (H<jats:sub>3<\/jats:sub>O<jats:sup>+<\/jats:sup>)<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub>[Cu(\u03ba<jats:sup>2<\/jats:sup><jats:italic>O<\/jats:italic>,\u03ba<jats:italic>N<\/jats:italic>\u2010L)<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub>] (<jats:bold>4<\/jats:bold>), [Cu(\u03ba<jats:sup>2<\/jats:sup><jats:italic>O<\/jats:italic>,\u03ba<jats:italic>N<\/jats:italic>\u2010L)(dp)<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub>] (<jats:bold>3<\/jats:bold>) or [Cu(\u03ba<jats:sup>2<\/jats:sup><jats:italic>O<\/jats:italic>,\u03ba<jats:italic>N<\/jats:italic>\u2010L)(\u03ba<jats:sup>2<\/jats:sup>N\u2010bpy)] (<jats:bold>5<\/jats:bold>) or dinuclear [{Cu(\u03ba<jats:sup>2<\/jats:sup><jats:italic>O<\/jats:italic>,\u03ba<jats:italic>N<\/jats:italic>\u2010L)(H<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub>O)}<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub>(\u03ba\u2010py)]<jats:bold>\u00b7<\/jats:bold>CH<jats:sub>3<\/jats:sub>OH (<jats:bold>6<\/jats:bold>) complexes were obtained, respectively. The compounds were characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, single\u2010crystal X\u2010ray diffraction analysis and, for <jats:bold>1<\/jats:bold>, by <jats:sup>1<\/jats:sup>H and <jats:sup>13<\/jats:sup>C NMR spectroscopy.
