The structure was determined by single\u2010crystal X\u2010ray diffraction. The new tetradentate Schiff\u2010base ligand in this compound was synthesized via the condensation of 2\u2032\u2010hydroxyacetophenone and (<jats:italic>R<\/jats:italic>)\u20103\u2010amino\u20101,2\u2010propanediol. Temperature dependent magnetization measurements showed a predominant ferromagnetic interaction among the four Ni centers. The best fit of the \u03c7T vs. T curve results in a solution with two exchange interaction values, <jats:italic>J<\/jats:italic><jats:sub>1<\/jats:sub>=12.7 cm<jats:sup>\u20131<\/jats:sup>, and <jats:italic>J<\/jats:italic><jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub>=1.6 cm<jats:sup>\u20131<\/jats:sup> which are appreciably correlated with the structure.
