This reaction can be stereospecifically carried out on (<jats:italic>E<\/jats:italic>)\u2010 or (<jats:italic>Z<\/jats:italic>)\u2010\u03b1,\u03b2\u2010unsaturated amides and takes place with the formation of a new C\u2010Hal stereogenic center, which is generated with total stereoselectivity. Synthetic applications of the obtained halocyclopropanecarboxamides are also reported. The structure of the halocyclopropanes and derivatives were established by X\u2010ray analysis.
