Both research areas have witnessed a tremendous growth over the past two decades, with a high number of studies mainly reporting the use of <jats:italic>N<\/jats:italic>\u2010hydroxyphthalimide (NHPI) and related compounds in the selective oxyfunctionalization of hydrocarbons. Additionally, heterogeneous NHPI\u2010based systems can provide a green and sustainable perspective for oxidation reactions. Nevertheless, reports related to this latter approach are still scarce and need further scouting in terms of types of supports used.
