The electrode is based on tetrakis[3,5\u2010bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]borate as ion exchanger in a poly(vinyl chloride) membrane. The sensor displayed a Nernstian response for ofloxacin over a wide concentration range (3\u00d710<jats:sup>\u22126<\/jats:sup>\u20131\u00d710<jats:sup>\u22122<\/jats:sup>\u2005mol\u2009L<jats:sup>\u22121<\/jats:sup>) with a slope of 55\u00b11\u2005mV per decade of concentration and a practical detection limit of 1\u00d710<jats:sup>\u22126<\/jats:sup>\u2005mol\u2009L<jats:sup>\u22121<\/jats:sup>.
