The three micro\u2010probes were positioned 50 micron apart from each other and 50 to 100\u2005\u00b5m above the cut\u2010edge metal coated steel sample. The vibrating probe recorded the local current density and glass\u2010capillary micro\u2010electrode measured local pH. Additionally, two different micro\u2010probes were used for DO measurements: either an amperometric micro\u2010probe or micro\u2010optode was coupled with the other two sensors using the triple head stage.
