Both oils consisted mainly of monoterpenes (62\u201069%), \u03b1\u2010pinene being the major component (20\u201035%). Geranial (16%) and <jats:italic>trans<\/jats:italic>\u2010nerolidol (15%) were the second and third most important constituents of the oil from the aerial parts collected during the vegetative phase of the plant, and \u03b2\u2010caryophyllene epoxide (12%) and \u03b2\u2010caryophyllene (10%) during the flowering period.
