The membranes had not only high proton conductivities, up to 4\u2009\u00d7\u200910<jats:sup>\u20133<\/jats:sup>\u2009S\u2009cm<jats:sup>\u20131<\/jats:sup> at 120\u2009\u00b0C and low relative humidity (5 and 10%), but also had good mechanical properties with a storage modulus of about 3\u2009GPa at 300\u2009\u00b0C and high thermal stability with <jats:italic>T<\/jats:italic><jats:sub>g<\/jats:sub> up to around 420\u2009\u00b0C.
