The membranes electrical conductivity measured was 1.5\u2009\u00b1\u20090.5 \u00d7 10<jats:sup>\u22126<\/jats:sup> S\/m, 579\u2009\u00b1\u20090.6 \u00d7 10<jats:sup>\u22126<\/jats:sup> S\/m, and 1837.5\u2009\u00b1\u20090.7 \u00d7 10<jats:sup>\u22126<\/jats:sup> S\/m, respectively. At week\u201012, a residual motor and nociceptive deficit were present in all treated groups, but at week\u201012, a better recovery to normal gait pattern of the <jats:italic>PVA\u2010CNTs<\/jats:italic> and <jats:italic>PVA\u2010PPy<\/jats:italic> treated groups was observed. Morphometrical analysis demonstrated that <jats:italic>PVA\u2010CNTs<\/jats:italic> group presented higher myelin thickness and lower g\u2010ratio. The <jats:italic>tibialis anterior<\/jats:italic> muscle, in the <jats:italic>PVA\u2010PPy and PVA\u2010CNTs<\/jats:italic> groups showed a 9% and 19% increase of average fiber size area and a 5% and 10% increase of the \u201cminimal Feret's diameter,\u201d respectively. No inflammation, degeneration, fibrosis or necrosis were detected in lung, liver, kidneys, spleen, and regional lymph nodes and absence of carbon deposits was confirmed with Von Kossa and Masson\u2010Fontana stains. In conclusion, the membranes of <jats:italic>PVA\u2010CNTs<\/jats:italic> and <jats:italic>PVA\u2010PPy<\/jats:italic> are biocompatible and have electrical conductivity.
