These compounds were characterized by comparing their radioactive HPLC profiles with the UV profiles of the analytically pure Re compounds 1 and 2. Based on stability studies, undertaken in aqueous solutions and in glutathione challenge experiments, 2a was chosen for biodistribution studies in rats.
